Maintenance of stage lighting equipment

The life of the equipment is largely determined by the quality of maintenance. The maintenance of lighting equipment is relatively complex and trivial compared with sound, basically doing daily routine testing, weekly regular testing, monthly equipment maintenance and appropriate debugging.

Matters needing attention
1 Half an hour before opening, turn on all equipment for low temperature preheating, and test all equipment and lines at the same time. The low temperature state means that the light is slightly bright;
2 Reset all devices to zero after 15 minutes of preheating, so that the device heat dissipation, heat dissipation time is not less than 15 minutes. After heat dissipation, you can officially enter the stage of music performance;
3 After the performance is over and the guests leave the venue, the lighting engineer should turn off all the equipment and let the equipment cool for 15 to 20 minutes, and then seal or mask the equipment before the lighting engineer can leave the venue.

Routine detection range
◆ Whether the lamp can be normally lit;
◆ Whether all equipment connections are normal;
◆ Whether all equipment can be used normally, including light control switch, color changer control, computer light action, etc. ◆ Whether DMX512 signal can control the lamp normally;
◆ Special effect equipment is used normally, and filled with required materials, such as: smoke machine, fog machine, snow machine, bubble machine, etc.

Regular weekly testing
In addition to all items for daily monitoring, the following points should be noted:
◆ In the weekly test, the main detection equipment connection, including power connection, DMX512 connection, etc., to see if there is loose, whether there is a break point, etc.;
◆ At the same time, when performing weekly testing, the lamp position and DMX512 programming should be adjusted more comprehensively;

Monthly equipment maintenance and appropriate adjustment

In addition to all the work of daily monitoring and weekly testing, this will be a very detailed work, requiring the coordination of multiple departments, such as actors, bands, weak current, security, cleaning, etc. At the same time, the following tasks should be completed when conducting monthly testing.

◆ Light position adjustment. Because there will be some changes in the use of the lamp position or guest area, resulting in changes in the lamp position, it is necessary to adjust the equipotential every month, of course, including DMX512 signal control computer lights; Mechanical equipment testing, including computer lamp motor, color changer motor, special effect equipment nozzle, etc.;

◆ Check all lines. Detect whether there is a break point, damage, whether there is leakage, because it is inevitable that some human factors in the use of the line is a variety of unexpected situations, such as the burst of leakage wire is broken, often inserted wire or there is a break point, occasionally because of the spread of drinks on the line leakage or even short circuit, so the detection should be very careful. This test requires a weak current to complete;

◆ Clean the dust and garbage inside and outside the lamps. There will be some garbage in the use of the light itself, such as the garbage left in the body of the lamp by the light bulb explosion, and the computer lights and special effects machinery that leak in the audience area for a long time are easy to fall into some garbage, such as ribbons, glass debris, liquor and beverage residues, and so on. Therefore, to wipe the garbage and dirt outside the lamp, and remove the garbage inside the lamp, this link needs to be cleaned with;

◆ Check all fire protection equipment. Lighting, sound is the most concentrated in the circuit of a type of work, strong electricity into weak electricity, more related equipment, more related wire, so fire prevention is the top priority in the lighting work, in the monthly routine inspection, should cooperate with the security department, all fire facilities, fire extinguishing equipment for comprehensive testing. The monitoring scope includes the normal degree of fire protection equipment, whether the selection of fire extinguishing equipment is normal, whether it is within the shelf life and so on. In addition to the above daily monitoring, weekly testing, and monthly comprehensive inspection, the lighting engineer must be very aware of all the conditions of the equipment and the environment, and please deal with it in time, so as to have sufficient security while getting a good visual environment.
