In stage applications, for LED fixtures, if a higher CRI always better?

The color rendering index (CRI) of LED is an important parameter to measure the ability of a light source to restore the color of objects and people. At present, the highest color rendering index of LED light sources on the market is about 98. During the process of LED stage lighting manufacturing, improving the color rendering index usually requires sacrificing part of the luminous flux. In specific applications, the relationship between the two should be weighed according to actual requirements.

For special places such as television broadcasting and studios, a high color rendering index (such as 95-97) is necessary. For general stage performances and shooting performance occasions, the color rendering index is usually set at 90-92. Blindly pursuing a high color rendering index at the expense of luminous flux may lead to insufficient stage illumination and affect the overall effect.
