School Project of New Campus of No.1 Middle School of Shaowu

The construction project of the new campus of No.1 Middle School of Shaowu is a key ongoing project in the province in 2023, with a total investment of 680 million yuan. It covers an area of 133,270 square meters and will build 19 individual buildings including new junior high and senior high school teaching buildings, teachers' apartments, student dormitories, canteens for teachers and students, junior high and senior high school stadiums, libraries, science and technology experiment buildings, art buildings, school gates and auxiliary buildings, with a total construction area of 118,900 square meters. The school will have a capacity of 84 classes and will add 4,200 new student places. 

Fujian Province Shaowu No.1 High School was founded in 1905 and has a history of over 110 years of running schools. It was originally named "Shaowu Prefecture Middle School" (1905), and later renamed "Shaowu County Middle School" (1910), "Provincial No.6 Middle School" (1917), "Provincial Shaowu Junior High School" (1929), and "Provincial Shaowu High School" (1940). In 1954, it was officially named "Fujian Province Shaowu No.1 High School" and has been used since then. In 2004, it was evaluated and recognized as a "First-Class Standardized High School in Fujian Province". Currently, there are 42 administrative classes in senior high school, with 2,073 students and 197 staff members. Among them, there is 1 full professor, 2 special-grade teachers, 5 provincial subject leaders, 88 senior high school teachers, and 15 master's degree holders.
